Rejecting political correctness and victim culture is perhaps the best thing for me. Indeed, abandonment is a strong word and this is by no means a protest song, but the theme is definitely one of taking responsibility for one’s own destiny and facing adversity with tenacity and even aggression. (The show is smart enough to portray overt aggression or anger as harmful). There is a great scene in the karate competition where the competitor starts giving hypocritical virtue signals to the audience.
I hope Hollywood realizes that virtue signaling is not a prerequisite for great entertainment
